Hotel Pick Up Information
We offer complimentary pick up and drop off from over 35 downtown Portland hotels and select hotels on the east side of Portland. Please select your hotel from the drop down list when making your reservation, and we will contact you at least 48 hours prior to your tour to confirm pick up timing. If your hotel is not in the drop down list, please choose the Hyatt Regency at The Oregon Convention Center (375 NE Holladay St, Portland, OR 97232) and that will be used as your meet point.
Frequently Asked Questions Before the Tour
Can the tour van accommodate a wheelchair?
Our vans can accommodate most foldable wheelchairs. Our vans cannot accommodate electric or non-foldable wheelchairs. Please contact our office at 800-637-3110, before booking your seats to see if we have a van available with appropriate storage capacity for a foldable wheelchair. Please remember that all vans require two steps up to board them.
Do I need to purchase a seat for my child?
Yes, all guests no matter their age must have a reservation in order to enjoy the tour. If you have a stroller, please contact our office so that we can let the Tour Guide know.
Will my child need a child/booster seat?
Child passengers must be restrained in child safety seats until they weigh forty pounds or reach the upper weight limit for the car seat in use. Infants must ride rear-facing until they reach two years of age unless the child turned age one prior to May 26, 2017. Children over forty pounds or who have reached the upper weight limit for their forward-facing car seat must use a child seat with harness or a booster to 4’9″ tall or age eight and the adult belt fits correctly. Please contact our office at 800-637-3110 if you will be bringing a child seat so that we can allocate extra time at your pick up for you to install it in the van. If your child requires a booster seat, you will need to provide your own.
What is a typical gratuity?
Generally we recommend 15-20% of the tour cost per person. All guides accept cash and some accept money transfer apps such as Venmo.
What happens if I have to cancel my tour?

Do you provide lunch on tours?
No, but there are stops along the way to get food and you’re welcome to bring your own snacks. Please refrain from bringing food/snacks with a strong smell if you will be eating them in the van. Full day tours will give you a minimum of 1 hour to get lunch on your own.
What kind of vehicle does the guide drive and do your vehicles run on diesel?
We drive Mercedes and Dodge Sprinter Vans that seat anywhere between 11-14 passengers. Yes, the vehicles are Diesel.
Does the guide pick me up at 9:00am/2:00pm?
No, that is when the tour actually starts. We give guests a 15 min pickup window before the tour starts so that we can start the tour on time. Generally 30 min prior to start of tour (8:30am/1:30pm) is the earliest pickup, however we do occasionally require an earlier pickup window to accommodate all of our guests and their hotel locations. Please reach out to us three days prior to your tour to confirm your pickup window.
Is there free parking downtown?
No but there are parking garages and street parking available all over the city. Portland also has wonderful public transportation system (Trimet) if you would like to look into that as well. ($2.50 for a single ride, or $5.00 for a day pass. the same pass works on the busses, streetcar, and MAX lightrail)
Is there time to stop for shopping on any tours?
Some of the stops have small gift shops, and the full day tours give you at least an hour for lunch. You can choose to have a quicker lunch so that you have time to shop, but there is no specific “shopping” stop on any of our tours.
Can we hire you as transportation for an event?
Yes, please email [email protected] for information and pricing.
Can you drop me off somewhere different than my pick up/ meet point?
Custom pick up locations are only available for private tours and fees may apply.
Why can’t you pick up from the airport?
The airport is too far out of town and the associated traffic is not conducive to keep our standard tour schedule. We are happy to accommodate airport pickups for an additional fee on private tours only.
How much walking is there?
Our coast tour has the most walking with a 1 mile round trip easy “hike” on a paved trail (0.5 mi each way). There are other opportunities to walk along the beach or trails at your own discretion. Our Mt Hood and our waterfall tours have the option to do up to 1/4 mi of easy “hiking” to get closer to some of the waterfalls, but it should you have limited mobility you can opt to stay closer to the parking lot and not miss out on too much. The city and wine tours are minimal walking.
Can you accommodate large groups?
If your group is larger than our sprinter van capacity, we are happy to provide multiple vans/guides or we can provide busses for private tours. Please note that some limitations apply as to where the busses are allowed which may affect your tour. Please email [email protected] with your group size, dates, and tour interest so we can answer your questions specifically.
