I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. Jeri was absolutely amazing! Extremely informative, personal, and all around great personality. Although the snow prevented us from making it all the way up to the lodge, our group understood that safety was more important. This entire tour is 100% worth it and I will never forget the beautiful scenery. 10/10 for tour content and 10/10 for Jeri.

This tour is worth every penny! I feel like I saw Portland from every angle. Jeri and Isaac were the absolute best. If I go back to Portland, I’d take the tour all over again just hang out with them. They were funny and knew soooo much about the city. Our group was really fun and by the end, I was actually sad to leave everyone. The best part were the amazing waterfalls and beautiful wooded scenery. Highly recommend!
STAR: Hi David.
We don’t do any social media or on-line reviews of anything, but we wanted you to know we really enjoyed our tours with Tom (to Mary Hill Museum ETC.) and Isaac (City tour) the following day. Tom went above and beyond. He was a wealth of information, which we quite honestly expected, but he also was entertaining in the way he presented the information. He gave us options, and when we weren’t sure about stops, he put on his travel planning cap and matched our interests to things he knew would appeal. On top of that, he is just a really nice man. When we had questions about other things, he pulled out his phone and checked them out. We could tell he likes to be learning all the time himself. We have traveled a lot, usually with driver/guides, and no one has ever done that. If you think of it, will you just tell him…..St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception. He will laugh! I am still recovering from serious medical treatment over 6 months last year and am not full steam yet, so I really appreciated his ability to give us what we wanted without over-taxing me. He is a real pro.
Isaac was a wonder maneuvering that van in the city. Amazing. We were so glad we did not attempt walking. We saw far more than we anticipated in an organized, efficient manner. You have another great guide there—-courteous, pleasant, full of helpful information. We learned a lot.
Also, thank you, David, for the option to switch to a small group van tour the next day rather than a bus. The change worked out very well for us.
We will be back!
Toni

I have contacted garden club organizer Lois Moss and urged her to add Steve’s Columbia river gorge tour to her garden club itineraries. I thought my two trips with your company and guide Steve were the highlights of my garden club trip to Portland. I learned so much , and as a fellow guide in San Diego was very impressed with your tours. Thanks so much and please give Steve my compliments on excellent tours and all I learned about your beautiful state.

“Excellent tour and excellent guide.”
We loved our tour guide, Tom. He provided us with loads of info about Portland and the Columbia River Gorge area. He allowed us enough time to take photos and walk around a bit. We never felt rushed to just take a photo and move on to the next view. Tom dropped us at the “bottom” of the short uphill walk (an easy walk) to Latourell Falls and gave us the option of walking up and having a “voila” moment or driving up to view it from above and walking down. He was so right in that the walk uphill to the falls was much better. Multinomah Falls was a beautiful site too. The red velvet fudge and the cinnamon pecans we purchased there were fantastic. We liked that he took us to Bonneville Dam, where we saw the salmon ladder. So interesting to see them swimming upstream. We also saw lampreys, which were very fascinating. Tom went above and beyond his job to speak with everyone and answer all questions. His knowledge and LOVE for Portland and the surrounding area was second to none.506225-6 | Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls Half-Day Tour

This is an excellent tour that I highly recommend to anybody who doesn’t have much time but wants to see a lot without being concerned about logistics of transportation, bathroom stops, lunch breaks, etc. It is all thought through for you. I had only one full day in Portland and after reading about all the sights had hard time deciding which ones I wanted to see. Finally, I booked this tour and it was a great decision! First, you are picked up from your hotel in a van that sits 8-10 people and this makes it a very personalized experience. I felt like I was in a car with a friend who was showing me around as opposed to be driven around by a tour bus. The driver, Ron, was excellent and very knowledgeable. We started with driving outside the town and visited multiple waterfalls, view point and nature sights. That took about 3 – 4 hours but was all done at a comfortable pace with plenty of time to walk around each stop, soak up the incredible beauty, take pictures, do bathroom breaks, etc. Ron, the driver, was able to answer any question we had and gave us tons of interesting facts about each place. Then we returned back to Portland and he dropped us off for an hour at a nice area with plenty of options for lunch. Again, he gave us all the information on our whereabouts and what options they had so I felt very comfortable in the neighborhood, had great lunch and some awesome coffee and dessert afterwards. Then we continued to drive around Portland for another 3.5 – 4 hours stopping at multiple sights and again spending enough time at each place to fully enjoy, take pictures and not feel rushed. Throughout all this Ron continued to engage us with plenty of interesting historical facts. At the end we were all dropped off at our hotels which again took off the stress of figuring out transportation. All in all it is an awesome tour and it is totally worth 100 you pay for it. Thank you Viator!

Our wine touring group of friends call ourselves Le Grand Cru, and we just finished our 22nd annual visit to a major wine-producing region in the world. This year we spent seven days enjoying the excellent wines of Oregon’s Willamette Valley and Columbia Gorge regions, and the trip was a great success due in large part to the efforts of America’s Hub World Tours in Portland.
Le Grand Cru has toured widely. We have been to most major wine-producing regions in the world. We know wines, we know wineries and we know wine regions. Consequently, we have a lot of expectations to meet when planning these trips. Finding a touring company that could put together a satisfactory itinerary for a large group (40 of us this year) was job one. After talking to several suppliers in the Portland area that could plan tours of Oregon’s wine regions, I began to better understand their capabilities and soon began to focus on America’s Hub World Tours. This turned out to be a great decision. With a group this size planning has to start months earlier than the proposed trip date in order to accommodate us in wineries, restaurants and hotels.
Early on, we were specific in our expectations. To meet these expectations, AHWT staff listened, clarified their understanding, planned an appropriate itinerary, and executed perfectly when the time came, and this is good as our expectations are high. What expectations did they meet? To name a few, we prefer the smaller, up-and-coming boutique wineries. Done! In wines, we prefer quality over value. Done! We prefer private tastings where we have more intimate contact with the winemaker. Done! We prefer upscale meals that reflect the cuisine of a region. Done! We prefer to dine in a more private setting. Done! We prefer upscale hotels serving complementary hot breakfasts. Done! And we prefer to mix in a little sightseeing between the winery experiences to help break up the routine and give us a flavor for the region. Done! The trip was conducted using a first class, comfortable motor coach with an accommodating, professional driver. And all of this was done with an excellent tour manager. She was very personable, knowledgeable about Oregon wines and a great ambassador for the region.
If we were to travel the Oregon wine regions again, I would not hesitate to use America’s Hub World Tours as our tour provider. And I would certainly recommend them to any group wanting to take a serious look at Oregon’s various AVAs. The will certainly strive to meet your expectation

Awesome sights and awesome tour guide”
All in all a great tour. They pick you up from your hotel (or residence if you’re staying with a friend). Our tour guide was Sergio who was very knowledgeable not only about the Columbia River Gorge area but also about Portland in general. He was very friendly and very sociable. Our tour was small (only 5 including me and my wife) so it definitely had more of a personal feel to it. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portland. It is well worth the money.

Best way to enjoy Portland”
Thank you, Ron for a tremendously informative and fun day of touring. I didn’t want to go the route of renting a car and venturing out on my own on this trip so I selected 2 tours with America’s Hub. This was the perfect way to see a lot in my short stay in the city. In the morning we drove to the Columbia River Gorge and toured the falls. I liked that it was a small group so that we could ask questions and easily have an on-going conversation. Ron shared all kinds of things about the history of Portland and the state of Oregon. In the afternoon I stayed with Ron for a vineyard tour. (He dropped me off at a restaurant for lunch while picking up another couple to join the tour) The sun was shining as we tasted wine at 3 vineyards and even stopped at a buffalo ranch. Ron allowed us to customize the afternoon to our likes. I highly recommend America’s Hub to be your guides through the beautiful Portland area. I wish I had more time so that I could have done the coastal tour as well.5 of 5 stars

“Excellent experience, great day to the Falls and Mt Hood”
We did the Mt Hood Loop tour and had a wonderful day all in all. It started with a pick up at our hotel (downtown Portland), on time. We picked a second couple a voila, we were on our way. First to all the falls and several overlooks along the way. Very scenic, plenty of time to enjoy, although we wished we had more time to hike in general.
We had lunch in Hood River, at Full Sail, on our tour guide’s recommendation, we got the beer tasting sampler. For someone likes me who drinks mostly wine, the beers were actually prett tasty. Great food (salads, sandwiches and amazing bread pudding per desert).
Last a visit to Mt Hood at the Timberline Lodge. We made other peculiar stops along the way that made the trip very unique. One was a spectacular view of Mt Hood, at Panorama Point, overlooking fruit orchards. Loved it. Another one along the Columbia River tosee the parasailers, lots of them…
Again, very courteous and knowlegdeable tour guide, specially so, since the other couple was traveling with an 83 year old lady who need help inand out of the van.
Would recommend it 100%, you will not be dissapointed!5 of 5 stars

“Fantastic Day with the best guide ever.”
We were two couples in Portland for a few days and really wanted to have one day to go out of the city and see the countryside. Since we didn’t have a car we decided to see if we could find a tour co. After a quick internet search we found Americas Hub. We booked the Waterfalls and Wine tour through Debbie who was very helpful in helping us customize the day to fit our tastes. Our tour guide called an hour or so before picking us up to confirm. From the moment Ron arrived we had an amazing day. Started with a short driving tour of downtown full of information on the city, then headed out on the scenic drive to the gorge, we made stops at all the waterfalls and even one hidden falls that according to Ron, very few know about. It was really cold but to our surprise, Ron pulled out a duffle bag full of sweatshirts which we thankfully donned. He took us to the fish hatchery to meet Herman the Sturgeon, the beautiful lodge at Multnohma and up to the panoramic view of Mt. Hood which was cloudless, thanks to Ron;). The tour company arranged for a private tasting at a small winery which also specializes in homemade wood fired pizza . We sat on the lovely patio looking up at Mt. Hood enjoying great wine and yummy pizza while Ron our guide snuck off to look for a place where we would be able to have a panoramic view of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams. After leaving the winery we were, in fact, driven to the perfect spot and we’re thrilled to have the amazing view. Our second winery was equally wonderful siting among the vines listening to Italian opera and experiencing some great wines.
We had been discussing dinner plans for the evening and had made a couple attempts for reservations throughout the day and our guide, Ron, had apparently heard us. On our way back he informed us that he had made a reservation at three very different types of restaurants and we could choose the one that appealed most to us. We decided on City Grill which is located downtown on the 30th floor with amazing views of the mountains and Ron delivered us to the front door!
It was a wonderful day made even better by a very experienced and knowledgable guide who constantly went out of his way to make our time in Oregon memorable. I would highly reccommend these folks, you won’t be disappointed.5 of 5 stars

The wineries that Debbie (who I had spoken to previously to book the tour) chose for our tour matched our tastes perfectly and Ron followed up her work with insights and information regarding the wineries and the area in general! The morning city tour felt a bit disorganised compared to other city tours we have taken in other cities. As this is two tours in one, make sure you know what you want to do during the break waiting for the second tour (Columbia Gorge Waterfalls) to start.
The second tour to Columbia Gorge Waterfalls was great. Our driver/guide Kelsey was a very nice person who provided interesting information.

Hotel pickup was spot on. The tour group was small and our guide, Michelle, was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the history and landscape of Oregon. The visit to Cannon Beach was perfect. We were able to spend time walking along the beach and view the Haystack rocks. Michelle took us up to Ecola State Park to get some nice views of Cannon Beach from afar at higher elevation. We also visited the Columbia Maritime Museum in Astoria to learn about the rich history of the Columbia River and its importance to the region. This tour will provide some of most beautiful views of the Pacific NW coast and I would recommend to anyone who has full day to explore outside Portland.

This was a fun tour and our guide, Gunnar, was very knowledgeable about the city of Portland. Actually, I was the only person in the first half of the tour which took us through some of the quirky neighborhoods around Portland. We visited the Rose Garden and the Pittock Mansion which is perched on the bluffs of West Hills overlooking Portland. The weather was perfect that day and there were clear views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens. After taking a lunch break, the second half of the tour picks up a group of two as we head out towards the Columbia Gorge. We make a stop at a sturgeon fish hatchery before visiting some of the many waterfalls the Gorge has to offer including the famous Multnomah Falls. Gunnar made sure we were able to spend quality time up close to some of the larger waterfalls. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portland.

Over the years my family and I have taken many guided tours of American cities. Often we use the Grayline company. I was very apprehensive about selecting another company but my concerns were unfounded. Our tour of Portland and the Columbia Gorge was outstanding! With no doubt our tour guide was the best we have ever experienced. She was helpful, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. She also had a passion for history which I really appreciated.

“Knowledgeable guide gave us good advice”
When we began the tour, we had some suggested wineries from a friend. Debbie told us that some of the wineries were expensive, both for the product and their tasting fees. She recommended 2 others but took us to one of our requested wineries. As she had told us the wine was overpriced but underwhelming. The other 2 wineries were wonderful and spent a lot of time talking to us about their wines. We ended the day with a case of wine to take home.

I ended-up being the only person in the tour, since others had cancelled ! I was highly grateful and impressed that the tour had not been cancelled. I enjoyed the tour and felt like I had my own private tour guide, which is essentailly what I ended-up having. The tour guide -Gunner was a thoughtful and patient gentleman, who was kind enough to take some photos of me . I didn’t feel “short changed” nor rushed. On the contrary, the complete tour was still provided with excellent customer service with professionalism and respect. I was picked-up and dropped off at the hotel. The tour guide was forthcoming, knowlegeable, good sense of humor and approachable. I’m very thankful that his boss-David did not cancel the tour and I personally called him the following day to thank him. Needless, to say, I recommend this company and the tour. I wish that I had also taken the Downtown Portland Tour, but regretfully, I didn’t!

I wanted to take a moment to tell you about one of your employees, Steve, and let you know how much I appreciate him. Yesterday, here in Portland, OR, I was on a 31 mile trail run on the Wildwood trail. Mile 27 of this trail goes right past Pittock mansion. Normally, I would be okay on this type of run, but yesterday, by the time I got to Pittock Mansion, I was in some trouble. I felt very sick, cold, and sore. There was absolutely no way I could finish my run, which ended 4 miles away at the Zoo. I could barely walk without limping. Not really sure what I was going to do, or how I was going to get back to the zoo, I ran across Steve, who took pity on me. He offered to give me a ride to the zoo. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated his kindness, given how miserable I was feeling. Not only did he drive me the 4 miles to the zoo, but he gave me a mini tour along the way. I wanted to compensate him, but he would not accept it. Steve also talked about the tours he gives and he gave me a company brochure. This is how I got your e-mail. I wanted to let you know, that you have a real solid employee in Steve. He represented himself and your company extremely well. It is because of him, that I will hold onto your brochure and recommend your organization to my friends and family that come to town and are looking to go on some fun tours. Please pass this message on to the appropriate persons. The guides name was Steve and he was at Pittock Mansion around noon on Saturday, December 29th.

“Fantastic City Tour!”
Really great experience. David ably and kindly made last-minute arrangements for us, and Debbie was a truly great guide: no cheesy speeches or forced participation, just friendly and knowledgeable guidance. Since we were there on a Monday in the very off-season, my husband and I were Debbie’s only clients on that trip; that made it very easy to ask questions and linger on discussions. Fantastic tour of Portland’s neighborhoods and a few extra highlights like the aerial tram and the Pittock Mansion grounds (the house itself is closed in January). Really looking forward to taking their other tours on my next trip to Portland (which, largely thanks to this tour, will be ASAP).

“Take the waterfalls tour with this company – is a must!”
Took the waterfalls tour with a friend and another tourist. Tour started with a visit to the Vista House (sadly closed during February, but even so it’s a remarkable place to visit) and ended at the Bonneville Dam (not originally included in the tour but our guide treated us to it). Our tour guide was Debbie and I must say she’s more than that. She was super friendly and knowledgeable on topics ranging from the history of the Lewis and Clark trail to geology and salmon reproduction cycles (it makes perfect sense while taking the tour), making the experience even more enjoyable.
There are more than five waterfalls but the hands-down winner is the last one on the tour: Multnomah Falls. Breathtaking and Spectacular. There’s a visitor center here, and adjacent to it, at the back, there’s a super cosy restaurant with a fireplace. Did not have the chance to try the food but the place is not to be missed. Don’t forget the camera!

“City and Falls Tour- both excellent”
The tour guide was excellent and our group was very diverse. The tour guide was very adaptable after a tree fell on the parkway road and we had to take a detour which extended the length of the trip. The tour guide did not hurry the group even though it meant delaying the start of his Friday evening. Our guide was very knowledgable and we have some excellent pictures to show for our tour.

“Great tour for single travelers in Portland.”
I came to Portland with a plan to tour the city on my own, and use a tour company to visit the falls. I had problems booking a tour because I just kept finding small tour operators that had problem accomidating a weekday tour (they usually require 6 people in order to conduct a tour).
As a last ditch effort I contacted my hotel concierge on a Saturday night at 9:30pm. He called me back by 10pm with this tour company information and booked the Waterfall tour for me.
After being in Portland by myself for 1/2 a day, I realized that due to Portland’s large homeless population, I was uncomfortable exploring the city on my own. So I upgraded to the combo tour and added an afternoon city tour to my package. I called the company around 8am on the morning of my waterfalls tour, and it was easily done. I just paid the first tour guide for the combo tour.
I took the “Portland City Tour/Waterfalls Combo” tour. It was actually 2 seperate tours. The guides picked us up at our various hotels in a small passenger mini-van, they drop you off at your hotel or other areas in the city by your request. You have to use a step to climb in and out of the van. The Waterfall tour was 9am-1pm, and the city tour was from 2pm to 6pm.
In the first tour there were four of us and the group was made up of a nice older married couple (in their 50′s) and an older (60′s) single female. The female guide was really good, very informative and patient. It was a very scenic drive. We stopped at Latourell Falls, Multnomah Falls and Horsetail Falls and Crown Point Vista House. We had to hike about 1/4 in some of the falls, and the vista house had beautiful views.
The second tour the group was made up of five of us, 2 older married couple (in their 50′s) and me. The tour guide was a male and he drove us around various spots in Portland and to Pittock Mansion. He was very knowledgeable about Portland, about the hot spots to hit and the various breweries. I would have liked to make more stops and walk around a little more. At the end of the tour he dropped me off by the NW 23rd street area to explore, about 1 hour later I realized I had left my souvenirs in his van, I called the tour company and talked to the owner. He called me back within 15 minutes to inform me that the tour guide had already dropped off my bag at the hotel! I was very delighted with how accomidating and responsive they were.
The tour company had very good customer service and I would really recommend them to anyone. Although some reviews mentioned that the tour could be boring, and I could see that, I would have liked the city tour to be more walking and exploring but I didn’t want to do a walking tour because I wasn’t sure how strenous it’d be. Overall I was very satisfied!

“Awesome service”
We had somewhat a private tour with one of the guide tours and she (Ramona) was specular. Very energetic and enthusiastic about taking their tourists to places. She’s very knowledgeable in places that she took us to, Oregon State Park, Canon beach, Manzanita and a walk to the beach through the forest. We had a very good time and fond memories of these places. Strongly recommend America’s Hub World Travel as your service for any Oregon tours and especially with Ramona as your tour guide. We love the way she treated her tourists and how she actually made our trip more exciting. One thing we liked the best was that it was serviced at your door. Picking up and dropping off the tourists at the hotel beats anything. There’s no need to meet up at a certain location, just stay at the hotel. Thank you, Ramona, for giving us a grand tour of the beach. You’ve been the best tour guide we’ve ever had.

“Enthusiastic Guide, Personal Attention, Worth Every Penny”
If I were still skeptical of tours, the two with Hub I took in Portland would have cured me. My grown daughter and I took both the walking tour and the coastal tour on 2 gorgeous days in mid-May, and because the season was not quite under way, we were the only guests both times. Our guide, Ramona, brought knowledge and wit and a bit of fun attitude as well. The tips we picked up gave us an agenda for the remaining 3 days on our own. The owner, David, takes a personal interest in making it a satisfying experience. By accident my credit card was double billed but he was quick to rectify the problem and very apologetic. With the coastal tour you get several stops for scenic views and time for lunch on your own, plus an interesting background of history, geology and miscellaneous facts. The frank “insider’s” perspective is difficult to pick up from books and magazine articles. This was a high point of our visit.

“Superb tour of Portland & waterfalls with a great guide!”
We took this Portland City Tour/Waterfalls Combo this past March and had a great and educational time. Mind you, if you truly want to LEARN and see the best sights of the city with an experienced guide this is your place! Our tour was unusual as we went off season and it was raining so we (me and hubby) ended up the only ones on the tour that day.
We ended up getting a wonderful private tour of the best sights of Portland filled with history and cool details from Sergio Ortiz, our super smart and interesting tour guide. Bonus points that he also happens to be working as a professional photographer and even gave me great tips for getting the best travel shots I am also about to launch my own site! He was very personable and answered all of our questions and then some!
Mind you, this is an educational and not gimmicky tour. You will see the best sights at a good pace but the tour is long and requires lots of moving about due to waterfalls. I would definitely recommend this to anyone truly interested in seeing a city, learning its history and any other modern details from a smart and professional company!

“Highly Recommended”
This is a great tour, particularly for first time visitors who are short on time. I was visiting Oregon for a conference, and I was able to squeeze in the Coastal Tour. Booking was easy. The scenery was beautiful, we got a taste of different parts of the area, and our guide, Ramona, was funny and knowledgeable about the region. Also, they are very considerate, I left my flip-flops in the tour van, and the company dropped them off at my hotel the next day. I was only sorry I didn’t have time to do the city tour or the Columbia River Gorge tour.
